San Francisco's odds have ticked up this week as the market shifts toward the 49ers. They now hold a modest edge heading into Thursday’s game.
San Francisco's wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has been ruled out for the season after undergoing PCL surgery. Los Angeles has otherwise been largely healthy through camp, with left tackle Rashawn Slater the notable exception.
Slater, who tore his patellar tendon in the same knee last August and ended his season before it started, had looked ahead of schedule in his recovery before a minor flare-up on August 4 sidelined him again, and he is certain not to be on the field for this game.
Los Angeles opened its preseason with a 27-7 win over Houston, while San Francisco lost its opener to Tennessee, 19-13.
