Rick Devens spent much of Big Brother Season 28 near the top of Kalshi’s winner market. Now he’s the favorite in a very different market: Week 8 evictions.

Why is Rick at risk?
Rick has avoided eviction through the first seven weeks of the season. So why are things suddenly turning against him?
Big Brother Junkies reported in its Tuesday recap that Barrett Pfeiffer will vote out Rick if he loses the Block Buster. Barrett has indicated that he wants one of the season's newcomers to win rather than a veteran reality-show contestant like Rick, who previously competed on two seasons of Survivor.
“This didn’t feel like the ‘woohoo’ moment it could have been because of everything else he said,” the website wrote. “It sounds to me like [Barrett is] doing it because he thinks the fans would want it. He said he didn’t even know if it was the best move for his game but he doesn’t want this to be an icons season and doesn’t want a Survivo [sic] to win.”
The move could also improve Barrett's path to the finale.
“If Barrett’s plan is to take out Devens and then target the other two vets, I think he’s making a mistake,” Big Brother Junkies wrote. “I could see a path for Barrett winning the game if he takes out Devens and then immediately targets Yash.”
The Big Brother Network reported that Angela and Dee have also discussed voting against Rick.
“We even heard from Angela and Dee discussing that this is probably a good time to do it too and then blame a flipped vote on Barrett so they don’t lose Devens’ jury vote,” the website wrote.
Rick had remained safe through the season's first seven weeks thanks to his alliances and competition wins, but his decision to volunteer as a pawn put him in danger this week.
“So what did he do wrong? He volunteered for the Block. Oof. You never volunteer for the Block,” The Big Brother Network wrote. “He has to know this. But he’s become so comfortably numb to the risks of the game that he put out the offer that Drew could put him up as a pawn. And he didn’t just do it once. Devens repeatedly volunteers for the Block.”
At this point, there’s only one way Rick can survive this ordeal: “Win the Block Buster,” The Big Brother Network wrote. Kalshi's market has also shifted toward Taylor as the second-most-likely eviction, overtaking LaTrice, as the house's vote count has moved in recent days.
Who will win Big Brother Season 28?
As Rick faces possible eviction, Yash Patel has moved into the lead on the Season 28 winner market.
Yash Patel now leads in the Big Brother Season 28 winner market at 23%, followed by Dee Valladares at 15%, and Barrett at 13%.
