Dancing with the Stars contestant Guillermo Rodriguez charmed audiences last week, earning enough goodwill to survive elimination despite low scores from judges. So when fellow contestant Jackson Olson seemed to mock the fan-favorite Rodriguez in an Instagram comment this week, Olson's odds for going home shot up to 43%.

What happened?

Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Guillermo Rodriguez has remained in the competition due to his sheer likability, and he doubled down on his charm in the fourth episode.

Rodriguez ended his performance to Escape (The Piña Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes by ripping open his shirt to reveal a coconut bra and the words, “Dancing for the People” scrawled on his chest. The move secured his spot in this week’s episode as the audience opted to send home Taylor Hanson instead.

The performance was parodied online soon after by a player in the “Banana Ball” baseball league. Loco Beach Coconuts player Erik Ostberg posted an Instagram video of his re-creation of Rodriguez’s dance, which pays homage by ripping his jersey open to reveal a T-shirt with the coconut bra and the same slogan from Rodriguez drawn on.

Fellow “Banana Ball” player and Rodriguez's Dancing with the Stars co-star Olson chimed in with a now-deleted comment: “But seriously how did you do this better than him with 2 hours of rehearsal,” he wrote, accompanied by a crying laughing emoji.

Fans quickly rushed to Rodriguez’s defense with comments calling Olson a bully. “This behavior is disgusting. Goodbye Jackson. No respect for your cast mates,” one commenter wrote. Olson has since deleted the comment on the post.

Still, Kalshi traders have taken note of the drama behind the scenes, which has seen Olson's odds for leaving the reality series this week jump to 43%.

Will this affect the overall competition?

While this online chatter might shake up the votes this week, Paralympian Ezra Frech continues to lead the Kalshi Dancing with the Stars winner market at 46%. Amber Glenn and Maura Higgins trail him at 15% and 13%, respectively.
