Game of the Year…
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is currently the clear favorite in the Game of the Year market at 92 cents. The sci-fi role-playing game has lead this marker since it opened in late April when the game officially went on sale.
Team Cherry’s Metroid-esque platformer Hollow Knight: Silksong and Supergiant Games’s Hades II are currently a distant second on the market at 3 cents each. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Banaza are trading in third place at 2 cents each.
Traders also seem confident that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will pick up more awards on Thursday. The RPG leads in markets for Best Narrative, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Independent Game, and Best Score and Music.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s high rankings are not surprising, in light of the many glowing reviews that followed the game's initial release in late April. IGN’s Michael Higham wrote that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 “has one of my favorite turn-based combat systems, ever,” while also offering “enough depth without feeling unwieldy, and just enough complexity while still staying focused.”
GameSpot’s Richard Wakeling called it “a phenomenal RPG” and “a moving tale, complemented by engaging combat that blends aspects of traditional JRPGs with reactive, parry-heavy action.”
The Esports categories
There is also a clear market consensus when it comes to the esports honors at this year’s Game Awards. Traders price France’s Team Vitality at 83 cents in the Best Esports Team category, and the team’s MVP Mathieu “Zyw0o” Herbaut is at 92 cents for Best Esports Athlete.
The team scored some huge wins in 2025, beating out 16 teams including a 3-0 sweep against MOUZ in the Counter-Strike 2 grand final to win the EPT Masters tournament at DreamHack Dallas, where Zyw0o also picked up his 26th career MVP award.
The team also won the Blast.TV Austin Major tournament with a 2-1 final win against MongolZ.
