The NFL has not yet officially announced who will headline the coveted 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, but a new scoop from Puck News on October 20 indicates that Jay-Z will pick himself. The rapper's company Roc Nation is in charge of choosing the headlining act.
The Kalshi market, which had shown the rapper neck and neck with Miley Cyrus until the rumors dropped, has now surged Jay-Z to 92%.

The rumors
Puck’s reporting cites “multiple sources” close to the decision to confirm that Jay-Z will headline the show — something the billionaire rapper has not done yet in his illustrious career. Reporter Dave Brooks calls the decision “more of a consensus choice than last year’s performer, Bad Bunny,” citing Jay-Z’s deep catalog, cool factor, and marriage to superstar Beyonce.
Unlike former front-runner Miley Cyrus, who only recently came out of touring retirement to play two sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Jay-Z has been on the road for the better part of 2026. His current tour celebrates the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, as well as the 25th anniversary of his seminal smash record The Blueprint. He was also the recent subject of an eight-part HBO docuseries with director Rick Rubin called Jay-Z in 8.
Puck News expects the rapper to announce his headlining performance this weekend at his sold out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Who could join him on stage?
Super Bowl headlining shows are all about spectacle, and that almost always means surprise guest performers. The Kalshi prediction market now expects a few of Jay-Z's closest collaborators to make an appearance, with Beyonce leading at 64%.
She is followed by Rihanna at 45% and Pharrell Williams at 35%.
Beyonce, aside from being Jay-Z’s life partner, has also released a significant amount of music with the rapper including “Drunk in Love” and the album Everything is Love. Beyonce headlined the halftime show back in 2013, and hasn’t been back to the Super Bowl stage since then.
Rihanna and Jay-Z have collaborated on hits like “Run This Town” and “Umbrella,” and she recently joined him on stage in July 2026 at his New York City tour stop. Rihanna headlined the show just a few years ago in 2023, but hasn't released new music in over a decade.
Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z have also been frequent collaborators, though their work together has mostly been behind-the-scenes. Williams has produced many of Jay-Z’s tracks, making his prospective appearance less flashy than those he has collaborated with on the mic.
