A new era for prediction markets in professional sports begins today.

From the opening faceoff to the final buzzer, fans can now engage with their favorite teams through the same federally regulated exchange that brought America legal election trading, sports trading, and even hot dog trading.

The agreement represents a major milestone for prediction markets in the United States and expands Kalshi’s reach into professional sports at the highest level.

The agreement

The NHL’s recognition of Kalshi underscores how quickly regulated event trading is becoming a core part of how fans engage with the world’s biggest sports. For Kalshi, the partnership reinforces the platform’s role as a federally regulated exchange built on transparency and trust.

Under the new multiyear U.S. agreement, Kalshi will gain access to official NHL data, marks, and logos, along with permission to use league designations such as “Stanley Cup” across its products. Kalshi will also gain broadcast visibility on national games throughout the season, including the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Winter Classic, and Stadium Series.

“Teaming up with the NHL is an important milestone for Kalshi and the industry at large,” said Tarek Mansour, CEO of Kalshi. “To have a league like the NHL embrace Kalshi is a testament to the integrity, safety, and trust with consumers that Kalshi has spent years building during our time pioneering this asset class.”

“It should be clear now, prediction markets are here to stay,” Mansour added.

Legal NHL event trading in all 50 states

The partnership reinforces Kalshi’s core commitment to fairness, transparency, and federal oversight.

Every trade on Kalshi reflects real-time shifts in supply and demand, expressing the collective judgment of market participants.

Regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the same agency that oversees U.S. futures exchanges, Kalshi operates legally in all 50 states and U.S. territories.

A new presence on the ice

With Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards and blue line virtual signage, Kalshi will appear across national broadcasts throughout the season.

It marks a new chapter for a company that started with rainfall and travel markets and now stands beside one of the most established sports leagues in the world.

For Kalshi, this partnership is more than a sponsorship. It is validation that prediction markets have become an integral part of how people engage with real-world events. They are no longer experimental. They are part of the game.
