LSU leads the SEC in total offense at 547.8 yards per game and ranks first in total defense at 220.6, according to Field Level Media. The Tigers' only loss was 32-24 at Ole Miss on Sept. 19, and this is their first road game since. Kentucky rallied from a 17-0 deficit to beat South Carolina 35-34 in overtime last week, and quarterback Kenny Minchey is averaging 229.6 passing yards.
As of Oct. 6, LSU linebacker Whit Weeks and tight end Trey-Dez Green were out indefinitely, and quarterback Sam Leavitt was banged up but had not been sat. Kentucky coach Will Stein said he is concerned about a short-handed secondary.
LSU last won at Kroger Field in 2002, a 33-30 victory known as the Bluegrass Miracle. Its last trip to Lexington, in 2021, ended in a 42-21 loss.
