This week, Tesla is set to begin testing its long-awaited robotaxis in Austin, Texas. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is looking for some positive press after his recent feud with President Trump (click here to trade our Trump vs Musk markets). Will the tests lead to a wider public release, or will the robotaxi project go up in flames?

Speaking of robotaxis going up in flames, Waymo has suspended service in Los Angeles after rioters began hailing the automated cabs only to light them on fire as they arrived. As the unrest, which began as a protest over recent immigration crackdowns, spreads, the odds of President Trump declaring martial law have spiked to 34%.

If you're not into the whole AI dystopia–civil unrest scene, now might be a good time to bury your head in the sand and escape into fantasy with the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon. The film premieres this Friday, and traders in our Rotten Tomatoes markets think it's currently on course for an impressively fresh score of 81%. But some critics in L.A. might not have published their reviews yet because their Waymos never arrived to take them to the screening.

🗞️ Kalshi in the news

"Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated prediction platform, has become the go-to destination for real-money wagers on political and economic events."

"As Kalshi aims to bring prediction markets to the same apps where clients check 401(k) balances, Schwab says its 'monitoring the space and regulatory landscape closely...'"

📣 Manifest 2025 Recap

Noah Sternig and Jack Such, both completely sober, speak at Manifest 2025

This past weekend in Berkeley, California, Kalshi proudly sponsored Manifest 2025, an event full of big ideas and curious minds. It was a great opportunity to connect with people who are as obsessed with prediction markets as we are.

A standout moment was a talk on Kalshi Sports by our own Noah Sternig and Jack Such. The pair discussed how Kalshi’s platform cuts through the noise of traditional sportsbooks, making sports trading more accessible for everyone.

Our jelly bean odds guessing game was also a big hit, and brought out some really creative prediction strategies. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to participate. We look forward to seeing you next year!
