What happened to Alina Habba?

Attorney Alina Habba led the market Wednesday following reports that she was being considered to replace outgoing White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Habba has since publicly denied that she's in the running. The Hill's Dominick Mastrangelo reported that Habba wrote on X that she isn't being considered to replace Leavitt.

“Flattered by the Kalshi odds, but I’m not in the running for any job,” Habba wrote. “However, if I’m getting a new one, I’d love for one of these anonymous sources to let me know first.”

Scott Jennings

Jennings recently addressed speculation that he's being considered for the job during an appearance on CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip.

Jennings fielded a viewer's question about whether he was in the running but offered few details.

“Well, I don’t have any comment on that,” Jennings said. “But it’s an important job. And because that person has to represent the most powerful person in the world, in the entire US government. And you know, what they say matters.”

Phillip asked if Jennings would take the job if the White House offered it to him. Again, Jennings declined to answer.

“I’m not going to answer that,” Jennings said.

Jennings may lead the Kalshi market, but Trump reportedly remains undecided about giving him the job.

NOTUS’ Jasmine Wright and Kadia Goba wrote that a source told them that President Trump is considering Jennings for the job. However, he’s “not quite sold on the idea” just yet.

Who is Natalie Harp?

The same NOTUS report said Trump is also seriously considering Harp for the job.

Harp is a 35-year-old West Wing aide who frequently works in close proximity to Trump. The New York Times’ Shawn McCreesh and Maggie Haberman reported that Harp is President Trump’s most trusted and present aide.

“She never takes a day off, not even on Sunday,” The Times reported. “She works out of the Oval Office and she’s got a regular seat on Marine One. She texts with world leaders on the president’s behalf. She stays up late with him drafting social media posts.”

Harp has even become a target for political criticism from Democratic candidates running for the midterms. Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia recently called out the president saying, “He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

The takeaway:

Kalshi markets now predict:

  • Jennings becoming White House Press Secretary: 32%

  • Kelly becoming White House Press Secretary: 19%

  • Harp becoming White House Press Secretary: 6%
