Jack Lowden's odds to become the next James Bond jumped from 39% to 62% after a Deadline exclusive report confirmed he was one of four finalists screen testing for the role. His chances now sit at 58%.
Lowden's 58% is followed by the two others named as finalists in the article: Callum Turner at 37% and Josh O'Connor at 17%. Deadline confirmed there is also an unnamed fourth contender screen testing.

Jack Lowden
Despite a close race, Jack Lowden has been one of the front-runners for the coveted role for some time.
Lowden’s first odds bump in the Kalshi market occurred in August 2026, when podcaster Richard Osman revealed that an insider had confirmed Lowden was being “strongly considered” for the role.
That momentum continued when Lowden’s Slow Horses co-star Gary Oldman seemed to have confirmed his casting during a segment on the Canadian news program The Morning Show, stating that the producers had already chosen Lowden. “They have picked him. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet,” he said on the show.
Oldman also endorsed the casting, saying he had his "fingers crossed" for his co-star. Some have even pointed to his Slow Horses character River Cartwright's fate in the latest season as a clue for his Bond casting.
On October 20, two days before the Deadline report, industry insider Jeff Sneider announced Lowden as a finalist alongside Jacob Elordi (who is not name-checked in Deadline or The Hollywood Reporter).
Callum Turner
The second confirmed finalist, Callum Turner, was the odds-on favorite for much of the race, landing an endorsement from one of the most high-profile Hollywood figures.
As a previous Kalshi News article reported, George Clooney endorsed the British actor to The Hollywood Reporter in June 2026. "I hope Callum ends up being the next Bond. I think he would be a great Bond," Clooney told the trade outlet. "He's tall and handsome and charming and British, so he's the perfect guy to do it." Clooney previously directed Turner in the film The Boys in the Boat.
In the same profile, Turner refuted the rumors, claiming he didn’t have any information on the casting process. “I know as much as you do – really, I know as much as you do,” Turner said. “It’s such a weird thing of something happening and nothing happening at all. I genuinely know nothing. I just find it quite amusing.”
Turner is currently trailing Lowden at 37% in the Kalshi market.
Josh O’Connor
The third confirmed name screen testing for James Bond is Josh O’Connor. While he hasn’t ever been the leading contender, he picked up a key endorsement during the early stages of the race.
Former James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, told IGN in November 2025 that he's rooting for O'Connor to pick up the mantle. When asked what he thought of his Wake Up Dead Man co-star becoming Bond, Craig jokingly confirmed that he started that rumor himself. "Let's hope he is," he added.
O'Connor is in third place in the Kalshi market at 17%, behind both Lowden and Turner.
The unnamed fourth contender
Both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter refer to a mysterious fourth candidate who is screen testing for the role. (The Hollywood Reporter claims “up to five” may be in the mix.)
There have been many other names swirling during the casting search, including Jacob Elordi and Jack O'Connell, though neither seem to have made the cut. Elordi is currently trading at 9% in the Kalshi market; O'Connell at 10%.
Though Jeff Sneider confirmed Elordi was part of the shortlist, The Hollywood Reporter explicitly states that he is not screen testing. The same report also confirms that O’Connell was not offered a screen test.
Other potential names include Jack Barton (trading at 12%), Idris Elba (trading at 9% despite likely being too old for this casting), Robert Pattinson (trading at 7%), or Aaron Taylor-Johnson (trading at 5%).
With screen tests happening over the next week, an official casting announcement is expected in November or December of this year.
