This column is commentary on Kalshi market prices, not investment advice. Trading involves risk, and so does playing quarterback for the New York Jets.
Three weeks in, five teams are 3-0 and five are 0-3. The undefeated list includes the Raiders, who have already matched last season's win total. The winless list includes the Chargers, who are honoring a proud franchise tradition.
Week 3 was a good one for backups and kickers. The Bears beat Philadelphia by 20 with their third-string quarterback, and two games were decided by field goals of 53 yards or longer.
Traders, for their part, have stopped reading the standings. Three teams with worse records are priced to win this week, including an 0-3 Houston team at 59% against Dallas.

Indianapolis Colts at Washington Commanders
Sunday, 9:30am ET, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Indianapolis is 1-2 after a 19-17 win over Houston that snapped a nine-game losing streak, even though Daniel Jones turned it over three times. Washington is 1-2 after Marcus Mariota, filling in for Jayden Daniels, knocked off the defending champion Seahawks, 33-31. Much to the chagrin of Roger Goodell, the league is sending two 1-2 teams to London to sell Europe on American football, a choice of ambassadors only the Jets and Dolphins could have made worse.
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
New England, last season's AFC champion, is 1-2 after a 35-6 loss in Jacksonville so thorough that Mike Vrabel finished it with Tommy DeVito at quarterback. Buffalo is 3-0 after turning it over five times against the Chargers and winning anyway, the first time the Bills have pulled that off since 1997. Drake Maye has seven turnovers in three games. Buffalo had five last Sunday alone. This game won't be about winning the turnover battle. It will be about winning the turnover war.
Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
Los Angeles is 1-2 after a 30-26 loss in Denver in which Matthew Stafford threw a 66-yard pick-six to Talanoa Hufanga, passing Brett Favre for the most pick-sixes in league history. Philadelphia is 2-1 after a 27-7 Monday night loss in Chicago to a Bears team starting its third-string quarterback. Traders have the 1-2 Rams at 63% to win in Philadelphia, a vote of no confidence that Eagles fans are certain to take with their usual grace and composure.
New York Jets at Chicago Bears
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
New York is 1-2 after Geno Smith completed 31 of 37 passes for 321 yards in Detroit and still lost, 31-24, when he was strip-sacked with a chance to score late. Chicago is 2-1 after 38-year-old Case Keenum, making his first start since Christmas Eve 2023, dismantled the Eagles 27-7 on Monday night. The Jets have tried and failed to find anyone to play decent quarterback for the last 50 years. Meanwhile, the Bears pulled a 38-year-old off the bench and won by 20.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
Jacksonville is 2-1 after never trailing in a 35-6 rout of New England that included Travis Hunter's first career interception. Cincinnati is 2-1 after losing 30-27 in Pittsburgh despite three touchdown passes from Joe Burrow. Burrow was sacked exactly once all afternoon, but of course it was a strip-sack with the game on the line. Last year Glass Joe's toe gave out in Week 2. The fact that he's not on IR in Week 4 counts as significant progress in Cincinnati.
Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
Green Bay is 1-2 after losing its home opener for the first time since 2012, a 35-14 Thursday night beating by Atlanta in which the Packers ran for 17 net yards. Tampa Bay is 0-3 after a 23-16 loss to Minnesota that ended with Baker Mayfield dislocating the thumb on his throwing hand. Both offensive lines spent last week getting their quarterbacks mugged, Jordan Love with 12 hits and Mayfield with six sacks. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will make his first NFL start and will be lucky to get out of the game with his wallet.
Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
Dallas is 1-2 after flying to Rio de Janeiro to lose to Baltimore, 34-31, on a field goal as time expired. Houston is 0-3 for the second straight season after Indianapolis kicked a 53-yarder with 16 seconds left to beat them, 19-17. The Texans made the playoffs from 0-3 last year, so in Houston this counts as a routine September. Traders have the winless team at 59% anyway, and the Dallas defense is 100% to blame for that.
Tennessee Titans at Baltimore Ravens
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
Tennessee is 0-3 after losing 12-7 to a Giants team that never reached the end zone, with Cam Ward throwing the game-ending interception from the 7-yard line. Baltimore is 2-1 and back from Rio, where Lamar Jackson hit Zay Flowers for 27 yards with seven seconds left to set up a 56-yard walk-off field goal. The Ravens defense allowed more than 400 yards to Dallas and could use a lighter assignment. Tennessee is happy to help.
Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants
Sunday, 1:00pm ET
Arizona is 1-2 after a 36-30 loss in San Francisco that only got close because Jacoby Brissett threw 52 passes digging out of a 17-6 halftime hole. New York is 2-1 after beating Tennessee 12-7 on four Dominic Zvada field goals in its first game without the injured Jaxson Dart. Traders have the 1-2 Cardinals at 56% on the road. Meanwhile, the Giants' leading scorer is their kicker.
Miami Dolphins at Minnesota Vikings
Sunday, 4:05pm ET
Miami is 0-3 after a 24-10 loss to Kansas City that cost them De'Von Achane for the season with a torn ACL. Minnesota is 3-0 after a 23-16 win in Tampa that featured 17 combined punts and two teams that went a combined 4-for-32 on third down. The Vikings won without much help from Kyler Murray, who spent his first full start air-mailing throws. Against a Miami offense that hasn't reached 14 points in a game yet, they may not need him again.
Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders
Sunday, 4:25pm ET
Kansas City is 3-0 after a 24-10 win in Miami, with Kenneth Walker III already at 360 rushing yards in his first three games as a Chief. Las Vegas is 3-0, matching last season's win total after Brock Bowers caught the game-winning touchdown in his season debut in a 35-27 win at New Orleans. Kirk Cousins has thrown at least three touchdown passes in every game. That's a lot of production from a placeholder. Traders have the Chiefs at 63% in Las Vegas, a town that knows exactly how hot streaks end.
Los Angeles Chargers at Seattle Seahawks
Sunday, 4:25pm ET
Los Angeles is 0-3 after forcing three first-half turnovers in Buffalo, turning them into 10 points, and losing 24-16. Seattle is 2-1 after outgaining Washington 437 yards to 258 and losing anyway, 33-31, to a backup quarterback. Jaxon Smith-Njigba has at least 120 receiving yards and a touchdown in all three games, which nobody had done since Jerry Rice in 1989. Meanwhile, the Chargers are suffering from a season-long power outage with no relief in sight.
Denver Broncos at San Francisco 49ers
Sunday, 4:25pm ET
Denver is 2-1 after erasing a 16-0 halftime deficit to beat the Rams 30-26, despite being outgained 482 yards to 257. San Francisco is 3-0 after a 36-30 win over Arizona that featured an 82-yard hook-and-ladder from Mike Evans to Deebo Samuel. Brock Purdy hasn't been sacked all season. Denver has led the league in sacks two years running, so somebody's streak ends Sunday.
Detroit Lions at Carolina Panthers
Sunday, 8:20pm ET
Detroit is 2-1 after a 31-24 win over the Jets, which means the Lions have scored exactly 31 points in all three games. Carolina is 1-2 after a 21-18 loss in Cleveland, where Deshaun Watson, of all people, beat them with a fourth-quarter touchdown drive. Can Detroit make it four straight games with exactly 31 points? Carolina let the Bears hang 59 on them in Week 1, so it's more than possible.
Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints
Monday, 8:15pm ET
Atlanta is 1-2 after Bijan Robinson ran for 194 yards in a 35-14 Thursday night win at Lambeau, scoring the Falcons' first touchdown since the first quarter of Week 1. New Orleans is 1-2 after leading the Raiders 27-16 late in the third quarter, then ending all four of its fourth-quarter drives with a turnover in a 35-27 loss. The Falcons have had 11 days to rest since Thursday night, and the Saints have had a week to learn how to hold on to a football. For both teams that isn't enough time.
