Before the NFL season begins, fans spend months debating how their favorite team will perform. NFL win totals help put a number on the expectations.
Each year, markets are created for the number of regular season games a team will win. For example, on Kalshi, traders can take positions in a market that asks how many total wins the Kansas City Chiefs will have during the 2026 season.
The market provides a full snapshot of expectations for the Chiefs season, highlighting the likelihood that it will win 8+ games, or 11+ games in real-time.
When viewed alongside the rest of the league’s win total markets, fans can begin to get a sense of which teams may be poised for a successful year and which will be fighting to scratch out just a handful of victories.
But, the win total market is only part of the equation when trying to best understand NFL win totals.
Traders must also look at the probability assigned to each side of the line, evaluate the differences between similar markets, and monitor their real-time changes based on injuries and other impacts throughout the season.

What are NFL win total odds?
NFL win total markets and odds provide a projection for how many games a specific team (Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, etc.) will win during the NFL regular season. Any games played in the playoffs do not count toward their total.
Traders can browse NFL win total markets and exact wins markets on Kalshi, or explore the broader pro football win totals category for a full view of the league.
For example, consider a market that asks traders whether or not the Philadelphia Eagles will win 8+ games. When establishing the odds and trading the market, traders need only evaluate the likelihood of the event occurring based on the team’s existing 17-game regular season schedule.
On Kalshi, traders can take positions on markets for each of 17 possible win scenarios. In other words, a trader can trade a market that settles based on the Eagles winning 1+ game, or the Jets winning 17+ games.
Based on the probabilities assigned to each scenario, fans and traders can start to gain a better understanding of the expectations for the team in the upcoming season.
Entering the 2026 NFL season, most of the league's highest expected win totals fall around 10-12 games, highlighted by the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens, who are priced at 51% and 41% to win 12+ games, respectively.
On the low end, teams like the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals are most likely to struggle according to traders, who price the likelihood of the pair winning 5+ games at just 38% and 39%, respectively.
Win total projections aren't simply a reflection of the previous year’s standings. Expectations shift based on changes to a team’s roster, coaching changes, strength of schedule, injuries, and more.
How to Read NFL Win Total Odds
When evaluating NFL win total odds, it is important for traders to weigh each side of a projection to better understand the market’s expectations about team performance.
Consider a market where traders are asked about the New England Patriots total wins for the upcoming season. Forecasted at 10.5 wins on Kalshi, traders price the likelihood of the team eclipsing 10+ wins at 60% before the season starts.
On the other hand, the odds of the team not winning 10+ games is priced at 40%.
When evaluating the market of New England winning 11+ games, traders price the chances at just 47%, and the likelihood of the Patriots not winning 11+ games at 53%.
When compared, it allows traders to better understand where the yearly forecast falls. The market favors the team to win 10 games, but not 11, therefore providing a forecast between the two.
Settling the market as a “yes” requires the team to win at least the number of games indicated.
Therefore, if a trader takes a position in the “yes” side of the 11+ games market for the Pats they will only have the market settle in their favor when they win 11 or more games during the regular season.
Half Point Events
Other market providers might offer win total projections that include half point events. For example, a market may ask whether Denver wins more or less than 8.5 games during the regular season.
In this instance, traders would need to determine whether they believe Denver will win 8 or fewer games, or 9 or more games, as they cannot win a “half game.”
Evaluating the Price of NFL Win Total Markets
Kalshi’s markets express expectations through contract prices. In other words, the contract price can be interpreted as the market’s assessment of the probability that an event occurs. For example, in markets where a team is priced at 58% to win 10+ games, the market is assigning roughly a 58% probability that it does so.
Traders that believe the actual probability is higher may see value in that contract. Or those who think the market is pricing the outcome as too likely could see value in the opposite side.
This forces traders to question not just whether a team will reach a certain number of wins, but also whether or not the current market price accurately reflects the chances it does so.
What Impacts an NFL Win Total Projection?
Many different variables impact markets related to regular season NFL win totals, sometimes referred to as NFL team totals.
For example, a team's win total projection might be heavily impacted by the relative ease of its division. Given that divisional opponents make up six of the 17 games played each NFL season, if a team is expected to be strongly favored in those particular games, it is likely going to have a strong projected win total.
Another key variable is strength of schedule, which accounts for an NFL team's entire regular season. Let's look at an example with the New England Patriots. Kalshi's NFL market-implied power rankings offer another lens for evaluating team strength heading into the season.
Even though the Patriots are stuck in a tough division alongside the Buffalo Bills, they maintain a relatively easy strength of schedule (ranked 23rd by ESPN FPI). This variable helps bolster the Patriots projected win total, with their odds priced at 60% to win 10+ games.
NFL Win Total Odds on Kalshi
Kalshi offers contracts tied to how many games a team will win during the regular season, along with markets related to particular season outcomes, like will the team qualify for the playoffs or win the Super Bowl.
Unlike a fixed line offered at a traditional sportsbook, which may not offer multiple markets or both sides of each market, Kalshi’s prediction markets allow traders to manage positions and expectations in real-time.
This means that the market can react to new information instantaneously, updating expectations when a key injury, a new trade, or unexpected league wide development takes place.
The result is a market that continually reflects the shifting expectations of an NFL team and its season performance.
Current 2026 NFL Win Total Outlook
The 2026 NFL win total markets, when viewed collectively, attempt to illustrate a season full of expectations across the National Football League.
The Los Angeles Rams, the Super Bowl favorite, maintain the highest forecasted win total at 12.1 wins.
Other contending teams, the Seattle Seahawks (11.3), Buffalo Bills (11.3), and Baltimore Ravens (11.4) are projected just below the Rams. Not far behind in the AFC, the New England Patriots are forecast at 10.5 wins.
Despite holding Super Bowl odds of just 5%, the Detroit Lions rival the group in projection at 11.4 wins, likely buoyed by the fact that they maintain one of the league's easiest schedules when viewed via ESPN's FPI.
The Philadelphia Eagles hold the same Super Bowl odds at just 5%, but also maintain a strong future outlook. Kalshi traders price odds of the Eagles winning 10+ games at 61%.
At the complete opposite side of the spectrum, the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins are forecast for 4.4 and 4.3 wins during the NFL season when using Kalshi’s total wins markets.

Understanding NFL Win Total Odds

Weekly, the markets will shift as strength of schedule updates, quarterback situations take shape, and divisional competition intensifies.
Traders that want to test their own view of the win totals markets for individual teams (Cleveland Browns, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, etc.) can do so on Kalshi, where the market moves in real-time, allowing traders to enter and exit positions as the season progresses.
