The Dallas Cowboys open their preseason on the road against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle, with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Kalshi's market prices Seattle at 57% and Dallas at 43%, as of this writing.
Dallas finished 7-9-1 last season, second in the NFC East and out of the playoffs, in Brian Schottenheimer's first year as head coach. Seattle finished 14-3, won the NFC West, and beat New England 29-13 in Super Bowl LX to capture the franchise's second championship.
Neither team plans to play its top unit. Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer has signaled Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and most of the projected starting offensive line will sit out, and Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald confirmed Sam Darnold and other established starters will not play either.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks, Saturday, August 15, 2026
Seattle's favorite status lines up with roster continuity more than pure matchup analytics. The Seahawks allowed the fewest points per game in the NFL last season, and Dallas allowed the most, a gap that persists even with both teams' stars held out. With most first-string players from both sides in street clothes, the market is leaning on organizational strength as much as anything happening on the field Saturday.
Dallas enters with rookie linebacker Jaishawn Barham managing a groin injury that could limit his preseason debut, though he is expected to be available in some form. Seattle heads into the opener with tight end Robbie Ouzts on injured reserve, part of why the team held tryouts for tight end depth this week.
Seattle's Darnold is out entirely, with Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe rotating behind center as Macdonald evaluates Milroe's development. Dallas has Sam Howell currently ahead of Joe Milton in the competition to be Prescott's backup, with Saturday marking a real audition for the job.
Dallas gets its first game action from rookie safety Caleb Downs, while Seattle's first-round running back Jadarian Price makes his preseason debut at Lumen Field.
