Next James Bond odds: Callum Turner, Jacob Elordi, and Henry Ashton lead the field

It’s been more than four years since audiences last saw James Bond battling villains on the big screen, and traders are speculating about who will inherit the super spy’s tuxedo.

Callum Turner currently leads the market to become the next James Bond at 44%, followed by Jacob Elordi at 22% and Henry Ashton at 16%.

Turner has emerged as the leading name in Bond casting rumors.  

Variety recently asked Turner about reports linking him to the role in Denis Villeneuve’s planned Bond film for Amazon Film Studios. The media giant struck a deal with longtime rights owners Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to assume creative control of the James Bond franchise.

Turner declined to offer an official comment on the casting rumors, saying “it’s very early for that question.”

Elordi has also emerged as one of the leading contenders to portray Bond.  

Journalist Roger Friedman wrote on his Showbiz 411 website back in January that Elordi is on the “top of the list of candidates to play James Bond.” Elordi also reportedly met with the film’s producers and Villeneuve about portraying Bond.

Friedman speculated that Amazon is pushing for Elordi because he’d bring a new audience of young viewers to the franchise thanks to his work on HBO’s Euphoria. He would also become the youngest actor to play James Bond.

Henry Ashton hasn’t generated as much industry buzz, though speculation around his candidacy is growing.

MovieWeb’s Jonathan Fuge wrote that Ashton is at the right age for James Bond at 35, just a few years younger than Craig was when he first became Bond in Casino Royale. Thanks to his portrayal of Daeron Targaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, he also has “the ‘fresh face’ required to lead the franchise into its next era.”

Traders are also speculating about the identity of the next Bond girl.

Currently, Sydney Sweeney leads the field at 25%, followed by Margaret Qualley, who is priced at 17%. Anya Taylor-Joy rounds out the top three with a 14% chance of landing the role.
