Miley Cyrus has surged to the top of Kalshi's Super Bowl LXI halftime headliner market following the spread of an apparently fabricated Apple Music image.

Cyrus currently leads the market at 57%, up from 29% last week (late September 2026), while Jay-Z has fallen from 47% to 41%.

Miley Cyrus

Cyrus' price surged as an apparently fabricated screenshot purporting to show an Apple Music teaser spread across social media.

TV Insider reported that screenshots spread across social media claiming Apple Music had accidentally posted and deleted an image showing the silhouette of a female performer.

“Screenshots across social platforms like X and Instagram quickly made the rounds, claiming that Apple Music accidentally posted and deleted a teaser revealing the headliner, leaving internet sleuths convinced the slot belongs to a major female superstar,” TV Insider reported.

The entertainment account The Spill Room was among the social media accounts that circulated the claim, questioning whether the image represented a genuine leak or an elaborate fake.

Instagram post

“One second, there’s a cryptic silhouette on an official-looking Apple Music account, and the next it’s gone, leaving everyone trying to figure out whether they just witnessed an accidental leak or someone getting way too creative with Photoshop,” The Spill Room wrote. “The silhouette has already sent fans into detective mode, especially because the account appeared to include familiar names in the surrounding Instagram context.”

TV Insider noted that there is no official record of Apple Music publishing the image and reported that the screenshot appears to have been fabricated. It is possible that the image was fabricated, even if that has not stopped traders from bumping up her price on the market.

Jay-Z

Jay-Z led the market at 50% in late September 2026 amid speculation that his role with Roc Nation and the NFL could put him in contention for the performance.

BuzzFeed.News reported that Jay-Z served as the live music entertainment strategist for the NFL through his Roc Nation company. The NFL hired Jay-Z as part of its Inspire Change Initiative to shape future Super Bowl halftime shows and contribute “to the league’s activism campaign,” following criticism of the league’s treatment of San Francisco 49ers player, Colin Kaepernick.

Jay-Z was one of the voices urging the NFL to support Black voices and listen to what the players were trying to say through their peaceful protests.

“I want y’all to understand, when people are kneeling and putting their fists up in the air and doing what they’re doing, it’s not about the flag,” Jay-Z said during a Miami concert in 2017. “It’s about justice. It’s about injustice. And that’s not a black or white thing; it’s a human issue.”

Jay-Z signed a partnership with the NFL “to make improvements in the areas where the league had previously fallen short.”

Super Bowl LXI will be the eighth halftime show organized and shaped by Jay-Z and Roc Nation. Despite Roc Nation's influence over the halftime show, Jay-Z has never headlined the event himself.

The takeaway:

Kalshi markets now predict

  • Miley Cyrus headlining the halftime show: 57%

  • Jay-Z headlining the halftime show: 41%

  • Harry Styles headlining the halftime show: 22%
