What happened in the first episode?

Host Julie Chen Moonves introduced two major twists shortly after the contestants entered the house.

First, the contestants learned that for the first time in the show’s history, no one would be crowned the head of household in the first episode. That leaves every contestant vulnerable during the opening week.

Then the contestants learned that the initial 14 contestants wouldn’t be the only ones living in the house. The cast learned they would be joined in the house by two Survivor alumni, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens, along with former Big Brother contestant Angela Murray.

Season 28 Winner?

Although the season has just begun, traders are already forecasting the eventual winner. Survivor alum Dee Valladares holds a small lead at a price of 14%, followed by Drew Campbell of Temecula, Calif. at 13%, and Barrett Pfeiffer of Austin, Tex. at 10%.

Who might be evicted?

Yash Patel

Yash works as a financial analyst. He's being tight-lipped about his plans for winning Big Brother this season.

“When it comes to my strategy, I would tell you, except I’m not gonna,” Patel told Parade Magazine. “That’s top secret!”

He did mention that people have a misconception about him, and he may try to use that to his advantage while he’s in the house.

“I think, because I’m very fun, people might not think I’m smart,” Patel said. “But I’m secretly a nerd. Before I had this nice haircut, this nice beard, and this outfit, I had textbooks and pencils. That’s just the way it is.”

Taylor Brown

Brown outlined an ambitious alliance strategy during her Parade interview. She calls her strategy the “Big B Blowout.”

“I have this weird game plan that makes sense only in my head, but I’m very excited to see if it works out,” Brown says.

Her plan consists of having a three-part team “where there’s a team captain for the floaters, and there’s a team captain for the two tethered teams. And with that, we’re just going to use each other where there’s going to be a Final Three, and then we’re going to all work together with our teams to maneuver the house, the votes, and the competitions.”

She also said she plans to "bring realness to the show."

Ashley Trail

Ashley told Parade she plans to use her social skills to get an edge in the competition.

“I’m a chitter chatter,” she says. “I’ll make BFFs with people in the house, make them like me, and hopefully win some comps. I also want to have one of the strongest alliances that are just like powering through everything. That’s kind of my goal in the game.”

Ashley embraced the strategic side of the game when asked what she plans to do in the house that no one has seen before.

“I’m there to have fun, but also, I would love to do backstabbing,” she said. “Because in my everyday life, I have great morals. I’m not fibbing. I’m not lying. So I would love to backstab, but while having such a blast of a time.”

The takeaway:

Kalshi markets now predict:

  • Ashley Trail getting eliminated: 73%

  • Yash Patel getting eliminated: 30%

  • Taylor Brown getting eliminated: 3%
