Everfi, the nation's leading education technology company today announced a three-year strategic partnership with Kalshi – the federally regulated financial exchange – to deliver modernized digital wellness and STEM career-readiness education to students in New York State.
As a company headquartered in New York City and built on the idea that markets work best when people understand the information behind them, Kalshi sees investing in the next generation of data scientists, analysts, and technologists as paramount. The partnership reflects a simple belief at the heart of Kalshi's mission: the skills that power modern markets, including data literacy, analytical thinking, and fluency with digital tools, are the same skills people need to build financial confidence and thrive in a STEM-driven workforce.
"Growing up in Lebanon, math was always my anchor—it is what fueled my decision to study at MIT and later co-found Kalshi. But today, far too few students have access to education that helps them explore future STEM careers. So we're partnering with Everfi to change that story for New York’s middle school students. Our hope is simple: to open the door for the next generation of innovators,” said Kalshi Co-Founder and CEO, Tarek Mansour.
To bring the program to schools statewide, Kalshi selected Everfi, which brings nearly 20 years of experience in delivering research-based digital wellness, STEM career readiness, and life skills education in schools nationwide. The Kalshi-Everfi partnership focuses on middle school students, as this is often when young people begin navigating technology more independently while starting to imagine future education and career opportunities.
"Through our longstanding work with schools across New York, we've seen firsthand how important it is to equip students with the skills they need to navigate an increasingly digital world and explore future career opportunities," said Elizabeth Figoni, senior vice president, Everfi. "Together with Kalshi, we're investing in updated learning experiences that help students think critically about the information they encounter online, build healthy digital habits, and discover pathways to careers in high-growth STEM fields. Building on Everfi's existing reach across more than 100 school districts in New York and 168,000 students served last school year, including 73,000 in New York City, this initiative will help expand access to these important learning opportunities."
The partnership combines Everfi's expertise in designing and scaling impactful K-12 learning experiences with Kalshi's deep connection to data, probability, and informed decision-making. Together, the organizations will empower students with essential life skills, and expand equitable access to modern educational experiences across New York State — all within a framework built on strict safeguards and age-appropriate content.
About the Partnership
Schools are increasingly being asked to help students navigate online safety, digital wellbeing, and responsible technology use while also preparing them for future education and career opportunities. In New York, schools are required to provide internet safety instruction, creating a need for engaging resources that help educators address these topics in age-appropriate ways. While Kalshi is providing the investment, Everfi’s experts have built the entire curriculum.
The initiative will focus on two core areas:
Digital Safety and Wellbeing: Helping students understand how social media algorithms influence the content they see, recognize misleading and AI-generated content, practice healthy digital habits, and make informed decisions about what information to trust and share online.
STEM Career Readiness: Helping students explore how data science, engineering, healthcare, software development, advanced manufacturing, and transportation systems connect to real-world STEM careers through interactive, career-focused learning experiences.
Designed to fit within the school day teachers already have, the modular lessons can be incorporated into existing classes. A technology or health teacher might use Ignition: Digital Wellness and Safety during a digital citizenship, online behavior, or well-being unit, while a CTE or STEM teacher might use Endeavor: STEM Career Exploration to connect data analysis, problem-solving, probability, and technology to real-world careers. Educators can pair the digital lessons with discussion and offline activities without creating a new course or overhauling the school schedule.
The courses included in the program have already demonstrated measurable impact. During the previous school year, students completing Everfi's digital safety course improved their knowledge by 28 percentage points, while students participating in STEM career readiness learning improved their knowledge by 31 percentage points from pre- to post-assessment.
Schools are being asked to support core academics, student well-being, online safety, and preparation for a changing workforce, all while managing real budget tradeoffs. This partnership helps remove one barrier by making high-quality digital wellness and STEM career exploration resources available to public middle schools across New York at no cost. The resources complement classroom instruction; they do not replace teachers or suggest that any single partnership can solve broader school funding challenges.
