Hamilton's price in Kalshi's Kansas Senate winner market has risen to 62%, a new high, compared with 38% for Marshall.

Marshall's video response

The New York Times discovered in September that Marshall sued more than 700 patients with unpaid bills from his practice, charging 18 percent interest on outstanding debts. The Times also reported that 81 patients were arrested after missing court appearances connected to the debt cases, while Marshall's lawyers sought arrest warrants in 13 cases.

In the final days of the campaign, Marshall decided to address these claims in a video. The New York Times also spoke to four people with knowledge of the matter who said that Marshall wanted to “personally push back” on these claims that have become a central issue in the Kansas Senate race.

“His top advisers said no,” The Times reported. “Such an ad was a bad idea so close to the election, they argued, and Mr. Marshall needed to contrast his record with Adam Hamilton, his Democratic rival, especially on immigration. That’s when Mr. Marshall went rogue.”

Marshall arranged his own film crew to record and edit a video response to the claims about his medical practice. He said in the video that the lawsuits were necessary “to keep the lights on” and that his involvement ended as soon as the bills were turned over to a collection agency.

Marshall's senior campaign advisers reportedly opposed releasing the video, but the senator distributed it outside the campaign. Kansas City radio host Pete Mundo subsequently posted it on X.

Hamilton responds to President Trump

Trump appeared at a Sunday rally in Salina, Kansas, to support Marshall's reelection campaign. During the rally, Trump criticized Hamilton over his religious views and the handling of past abuse allegations involving a church camp, referring to him as a “possibly perverted pastor.”

The Hill reported that Hamilton called the comment “sad.”

“It’s pathetic to be calling a pastor a pervert and all the things that he’s been saying,” Hamilton told NewsNation on Monday.

Hamilton also said he took President Trump’s insults as an “honor.”

“I’ll just say, it doesn’t bother me,” Hamilton said. “I feel like that says more about him than it says about me.”

Kansas Governor's race

Kalshi's Kansas governor market shows a wider gap between the parties than its Senate market.

Republican state Sen. Ty Masterson leads the Kansas Governor market at 65%, followed by Democratic state Sen. Cindy Holscher at 35%.

The takeaway:

Kalshi markets now predict:

  • Hamilton winning the Kansas Senate race: 62%

  • Marshall winning the Kansas Senate race: 38%

  • Masterson winning the Kansas Governor’s race: 65%

  • Holscher winning the Kansas Governor’s race: 35%
