SMU vs. Louisville, Saturday, September 19, 2026

Louisville is a narrow favorite at home, with Kalshi traders pricing the Cardinals at 54% in a matchup between two of the most productive offenses in the country early this season.

Louisville is trending toward getting healthier up front, with left tackle Anwar O'Neal and Montavin Quisenberry both probable after each missed time. A returning O'Neal would let Louisville shift Lance Robinson back to center, a change the staff believes could open up the run game.

The stat matchup to watch is SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings against a Louisville defense that has already forced seven sacks through two games. Jennings has completed 76.9% of his throws for 767 yards and eight touchdowns this season, and he owns a career mark against Louisville of 697 total yards and five touchdowns with zero interceptions across two prior meetings.

Louisville enters off a 635-yard, 59-point performance against Villanova behind quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, who accounted for 374 total yards and four touchdowns in that game. SMU is allowing just 17 points per game defensively, led by safety Jimmy Wyrick's two sacks and linebacker Alexander Kilgore anchoring the middle.
